Spring is all about color. Designers are staging a backlash against fall's somber mood, and Jacobs is spearheading it. Using a long pier off Manhattan's Meatpacking District as his runway, Jacobs presented what is sure to become one of the season's most influential collections. Lilac shirts, marigold pants, dandelion sweaters, and sweet tulip-print dresses brought to mind a Berkeley student listening to Donovan or the Strawberry Alarm Clock in the late sixties—if flower children had ever displayed such a witty way with proportions and chromatic combinations
Strawberry Alarm Clock in the late sixties.
In this collection, apart from the BLACK, WHITE, and GREY, I particularly like the above four outfit. The colors used according to the Principle of order, and the harmonize with each other by use the same intensity of differents hues. The colors, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue, altogether gives a feeling of nation, summer, unique, and also, Marc Jacobs.

The collection was subdued, achingly beautiful designs that are bound to be among the season's most coveted. The silhouette was long and lean, and most looks were made up of multiple layers—a dress over a T-shirt and trousers, with a waistcoat, for example. The palette was limited to shades of ivory and khaki, with occasional shots of azure, wine, or crimson—mostly looks for women, with about a quarter devoted to his growing menswear line.Like a sunny Sunday morning after a long Saturday night, the collection was lovely, if slightly tinged with melancholy.
PROBLEM ARISE:
In this collection, Achromatic Color Scheme and Monochromatic Color Scheme are used. Actually, Jacobs wants to project the feeling of a sunny Sunday morning after a long Saturday night. However, I expect the color used should be holiday mood, which are some sunshine colors, RED, ORANGE, BLUE...but Jacobs is the opposite, color used are BLACK, WHITE, GREY, KHAKI... I'm going to find out the reason later on.
SUMMARY:
In 2002, the color schemes that Jacobs always use are Achromatic Color Scheme, Principle of order and Monchromatic Color Scheme. The most impressed me is the Principle of Order Jacobs used to project nation feeling . For example, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue. Moreover, in this year collection, I've found out a problem, Jacobs uses color that is the opposite of others to project the same feeling.
